The ideological selectivity of the ADL, at least under its current leadership, is why I don’t consider them to be a truly reliable voice in the ongoing battle against Jew-hate. It’s a sorry state that they’re in, founded as they were by people who had truly noble intentions.
The ADL coddles jihadists. They rightfully call out right-wing antisemitism but they actually aid and abet progressive jihad sympathizers. I lose all respect for the ADL every time I hear a quote out of Greenblatt.
Thank you for sharing this—it's very thought-provoking. While I understand your perspective, I believe your main assumption (or at least how I interpreted it) may not be entirely accurate.
I don't think the ADL or Bari Weiss are intentionally shielding Islamists while deliberately targeting Black antisemites. In my view, they operate under the assumption that confronting Muslim antisemitism is particularly challenging, as it's often rooted in doctrines of Islamic supremacy, which are foundational for many (though certainly not all) Muslims.
Conversely, they seem to hold hope that the Black community in the U.S. can become more pro-Israel. This optimism hinges on the belief that by addressing and countering the influence of certain detrimental leaders (such as those you've mentioned), and by elevating voices like Dumisani Washington's, it's possible to foster a more supportive stance toward Israel within the community.
Western Arabs are virulent antisemites?!?! Could've fooled me ADL. Why would you think hiding such a self evident finding fools anyone? That's as dumb as Palestinians living in the US voting against Harris.

The refusal of Jewish liberals to confront antisemitism from any source other than the right wing drives me crazy.

Starting with the presumption that Arabs are non-white victims, good progressives believe that it is victim-blaming to point out Arab hate.
Wow, thank you for exposing this important information!
Excellent article which I hope will be widely read. Thank you!
